Dusting Off Strategic Planning

10:30 AM at Goodman Community Center (Length: 90 min)

Too often a strategic plan collects dust on a shelf. It is time to dust off the practice of strategic planning and make it work for nonprofits. A good strategic plan should be a living document that brings the organization together while providing clear direction. Our facilitation and guidance will help bring consensus and focus to your group so you can create your NewDay. When done well, a strategic plan is a dynamic process that adapts to an ever?changing environment. As such, it will not be a document that collects dust on a shelf! At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. identify the basic steps of a strategic plan and methods for keeping the plan relevant and impactful,
  2. explain the importance of strategic planning to their staff and board members,
  3. understand the benefits of and how to contract with an outside facilitator (volunteer or paid), and
  4. leave with resources (including a plan to plan!) for implementing a strategic plan at their Clinic.
