King Richard III

The Hunchback King Claws

06:00 PM at The Playhouse (Length: 4hrs)

Come enjoy, the Young Shakespeare Players, first-time, ever production of King Richard III! Richard, the hunchback noble with lots of personality and absolutely no conscience, claws and kills his way to the kingship, before he is brought low. Many critics believe that this is the play in which Shakespeare first broke through to absolute greatness as a playwright — with incredibly strong poetry and unforgettable characters such as Richard, the Lady Anne, Queen Margaret, Clarence and many others (even Ghosts and Murderers!).

This is a full-length performance of Richard III, Shakespeare’s dramatic history play, performed by young actors, ages 8-18, 6pm Aug 21, at YSP’s playhouse. One of nine annual productions by the Young Shakespeare Players,  a non-profit theater program founded in 1980 for youth, ages 6-18. (Other performance dates are Aug 14-17, 20 and 22, at 6pm, & Aug 23 at 1pm)
