participate in Madison Nonprofit Day

Tree Climbing Demonstration and Tour

04:00 PM at Sustainable Atwood (Length: 1hr)

Arborist Sean Gere will demonstrate professional tree climbing and lead a discussion on trees in the Schenk-Atwood neighborhood.  Ask Sean about the largest cottonwood in Madison! What’s the highest tree he has ever climbed? What kind was it and why did he climb so high? How can you tell if a tree is dying or if it’s just had a bout with a bug? Ask these questions and more: meet at 2018 Helena Street and take a short walk to the climbing demonstration and discussion area.  Afterward join us at 2018 for the Sustainable Atwood Green Grub Potluck 5-7:30 pm.

Sean Gere is a 6-time state champion climber, researcher/educator and owner of Gere Tree Care, Inc. Sean has been working with Sustainable Atwood neighbors as a consultant on the protection, preservation and promotion of the neighborhood’s urban forest.
